What is a leadership coach?
A leadership coach is a confident to anyone in a position of leadership without a stake in the outcome goals. Once the coach has a stake in the outcome, he or she becomes a subjective participant, and this could potentially influence the coaching questioning process. Ownership of the success or failure of the outcomes belongs with the leader being coached. The coach is there to help the leader reach his or her goals in the context of the organization’s needs as defined by the party paying for the coaching service. If someone other than the leader is paying for the coaching service, then it will be agreed upon by all parties what information is confidential or needs to be shared by the various stakeholders.
